I wanted to start off this week’s post with a couple of small business-type items.

The first is this: if you’ve sent me one of those message-request things via Substack and I haven’t responded, don’t be offended. I figure that, since I’m reachable by paid subscribers, at the Storyclubwithgeorge@gmail.com email address, that should be enough. Between my personal email account, and the Story Club one, and my Syracuse account…it’s a lot to keep up with.

Second: some of you have asked about us working on some more contemporary stories, and I am all for it, but I wanted to explain one of the difficulties of that, which has to do with obtaining rights to stories that are not in the public domain. This is a laborious and time-intensive thing - it typically takes months to get the rights to one story, which we then burn through in a couple weeks’ worth of sessions.

It’s a work in progress from this end.
