Talking about The New Yorker...
...with Deborah Treisman.
Hi all,
Pardon the intrusion but just wanted to let those of you in the L.A. area know about an upcoming event, a celebration of the 100th anniversary of The New Yorker.
We’ll be talking about how Deborah put together the epic 100th anniversary fiction anthology, what it’s like to be the fiction editor of the magazine, and there’ll be readings, by actors, from the anthology.
Friday, May 16, 2025, 7:30pm, The Ebell of Los Angeles – Lounge, 741 South Lucerne Boulevard, Los Angeles.
There’s a Story Club discount available; use this code “storyclub.”
Hope some of you can make it…
George

Love Debra Treisman, what a treat, her reading of Good People by David Foster Wallace was so beautiful and will always be with me .. shame I live in Australia ☀️ i hope it's recorded too !
One of secret (special) pleasures in life is when George & Debra talk together about fiction, especially on The New Yorker podcast when they are diving into a story. It's obvious they just get each other, make the other laugh, poke their ideas to see what's behind them. Wish I could be there. A bit far from the middle of the edge of the outback in the lost world known as America where I live, or something very much like it.
