Chronology, structure, meaning.

“The Child” is a story that I expect is going to stay with me for a long time. I feel like it’s already becoming part of the way I understand certain things (loss, parenting, aging, selfishness).

In part, the story made me feel this way because of its strange shape and slightly wonky chronology.
