I’ll have some more to say about “The Jilting of Granny Weatherall,” but when I was in Syracuse last weekend talking about the Porter story with my friends and colleagues Jonathan Dee and Dana Spiotta, Jon reminded me of this gem by James Salter which, as you’ll see, has something in common with the Porter story. I thought it might be fun to talk about them in tandem.
