Now for the business:

In a few weeks, the paywall will go up here and the more intense story-reading activities and writing exercises and so on will start appearing back there, for paid subscribers only.  So, if you haven’t subscribed yet, I’d encourage you to do that.  If you’ve subscribed already, thank you very much. 

We’re starting a program through which you can donate a scholarship that I’ll pass on to someone in need.  I’m thinking I might offer some of these to high school or college students who love writing but aren’t in a position to pay for a subscription.

Also, if you’d like to give a subscription as a holiday gift, well, yes, why not? 

I continue to be moved and inspired by the (still-coming-in) responses to the “Getting to Know You” post. This community we are making gives me hope.
