You're always so endearingly polite. No intrusion at all. Happy interview. See all of you soon. I got lost on an Ionian island for a month with my husband and dozens of cats. I even brought LITB along with us🕶🧿
"I would say that as a general rule, though an external event may trigger it, this inceptive state or story-beginning phase does not come from anywhere outside the mind that can be pointed to; it arises in the mind, from psychic contents that have become unavailable to the conscious mind, inner or outer experience that has been, in Gary Snyder’s lovely phrase, composted. I don’t believe that a writer “gets” (takes into the head) an “idea” (some sort of mental object) “from” somewhere, and then turns it into words and writes them on paper. At least in my experience, it doesn’t work that way. The stuff has to be transformed into oneself, it has to be composted, before it can grow a story."

Seems like a good moment to reach out again about having you on as a guest on my podcast Wilco Will Love You. We were in touch about it over the summer when my co-host and I were thinking about wrapping things up, but it turns out we’re still going strong! Glad the show was amazing, and I hope tonight is a blast as well! If only I could make it down to LA tonight, man. That would be incredible.
Sorry, I'm on the other side of the US out in the Atlantic..You will kill it.....but there is so much war in the world at the moment that Creative things just don't catch my interest...I think I'm just a little depressed^^
Just be kind to the First Goose that next crosses your path Graeme. Maybe also bear in mind Benjamin Zs poem when its getting around to Christmas.: be kind to those Turkeys, they just want to have fun.
The world is serving up a lot of pain at the moment..With Thanksgiving and Xmas around the corner.....I think this turkey better just Gobble off for safety^^
Love it! I was there last year when Mr. Offerman interviewed you on the release of Liberation Day at the Zipper. It was a brilliant night joining a conversation between two friends whose endearing wit and intellectual depth filled the space like the lyrical banter between Prince Hal and Falstaff in a medieval tavern!
I saw Nick Offerman’s interview on Late Night with Seth Meyers and he talked about the formation of y’all’s friendships (George, Nick and Jeff) and the hike you told us about.
I have the same feeling that I do when I see really beautiful fall trees. That I want to somehow be a part it, but I know it’s a separate thing from me. I don’t know if that makes sense, lol.
They played here in a tiny village near Valencia in Spain called Burjassot. Could. Not. Believe. My. Luck.
Firing up the LearJet, see ya t'night, I wish.

Thanks.
Just cued up "Impossible Germany." !! on YouTube.
How could I not have known Wilco before now?
Well now I know.
It's because "my music" is twenty years older,
and for better or worse, that's where I tend to hang out.
But appreciative of expanded horizons. :)
cool people hanging out together

That Goose became a victim of deadly example just like those 260 out in the Desert just trying to dance the night away^^
Hope it's a lovely evening, George. Also: Am Yisrael Chai, and may peace be upon all people soon.

Joy thy name is Wilco !
Who knew Jeff Tweedy was not only a great musician but a comedian? Hilarious bit on Seth Meyers with Fred Armisen: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=Lsbi7iP--4w
Shoot! Wish I could see this! Nick Offerman is so great.
I just saw Wilco in concert in Monterey, CA. It really was an “ecstatic life reset experience.” I’m glad I’m not the only one
who experiences certain live music in that way.

So sad I’m not out there! Just back from a few days in Ojai...how perfect if I could’ve seen Wilco, then you and Nick!
