Sudden Cheers and Whoops

In which we step through five pages of "Al Roosten," in service of the Platforms and Stepladder model of the short story.

First, sincere thanks to President Barack Obama for including Vigil on his 2026 Summer Reading List – it is such an honor. I admire him so much and love that he puts out this list.

Second, I’ve been working on acquiring some short stories for us, from a list of U.S. and international writers that I think you’ll be very happy about. Watch for more news soon – it’s a lot of organization but I know it will be worth it.

For today, I’d like to go back to last week’s post about platforms and stepladders, with an example from my own work.
